Little Miss Imperfect

This book comprises quotes and personal writings on an alternative beauty philosophy by Dr Teo Wan Lin, accredited dermatologist at TWL Specialist Skin & Laser Centre and founder of cosmeceuticals skincare line Dr.TWL Dermaceuticals. She is the author of “On thoughts, emotions, facial expressions, and aging” a key opinion piece on how psychology shapes our facial appearances and others perception of us as we age, published in the International Journal of Dermatology Feb 2021. She advocates a patient-led, rather than physician-led approach to cosmetic dermatology interventions which reduces self-critical mindsets prevalent in modern society, an established risk factor for psychological conditions such as body dysmorphophobia.

“I hope to inspire individuals to develop their own sense of self-worth and identity, instead of conforming to what they think society expects of them. I hope to spread the message that the more unique, different and imperfect you are, the more beautiful you can be.”

Her beauty philosophy is inspired by her studies in plant biology and artistic expression.
